TikTok Shop Violation Points & AHR Explained (Malaysia, 2026)

TikTok Shop Violation Points & AHR Explained (Malaysia, 2026)

A violation notice from TikTok Shop is not a fine — it is a deduction from your Account Health Rating (AHR), a score that starts at a healthy 200 and falls as you collect violations. When it crosses a milestone, the platform suspends the privileges that actually cost you money: campaign access, free-shipping programme participation, new listings, and eventually the shop itself. This page sets out what TikTok Shop's own policy documents say — the deduction table, the enforcement ladder, the reset rules, and the appeal windows — so you can act before the milestone hits rather than after.

One thing to get straight first: TikTok Shop replaced its old "violation points" system with AHR. If you searched tiktok shop violation points and found articles describing 12/24/36/48-point milestones and 180-day resets, you are reading documentation of the retired system (or of a different market's variant). The current system for Malaysia is AHR — but the Seller Centre UI still labels some pages "Violation Records", which is why the old vocabulary persists in search suggestions.

The score: what AHR is and where it starts

AHR is a numerical score from 0–1,000 that reflects your policy health over a rolling 90 days. Three things move it:

Component Effect on AHR
Base Every new seller starts with 200 points
Completed orders You earn points for completed orders (healthy orders only — late, returned, refunded or cancelled orders do not count); calculated weekly, capped per week
Policy violations Each violation deducts points, scaled to severity — see table below

Your score is visible in Seller Centre → Account Health → Account Health Rating. It is not visible to customers. Keep it above 200 and you stay in the healthy range; the enforcement milestones fire as you fall below 150, 100, 50, and 0.

What each violation costs (AHR deduction table)

From TikTok Shop's Seller Enforcement Policy (which states at the top that it applies to Malaysia, alongside ID/PH/SG/TH/VN):

Violation AHR deduction
Inauthentic seller/product qualifications 50 (up to shop closure)
Inappropriate/prohibited customer communication 50
Listing or shipping prohibited products 25 (up to shop closure)
Missing qualifications 25 (up to shop closure)
High seller-fault cancellation rate (SFCR) up to 25
Prohibited or unsupported product promotion 25
Counterfeit products 15
Expired qualifications 15
Knockoff products up to 15
False display of information up to 20 + product suspension
Low 12-hour response rate up to 20
High late dispatch rate (LDR) up to 10
High seller-fault return/refund rate 5
Intellectual property infringement 5 (up to shop closure)
Reproduced content; activities prohibited by law shop closure

Two structural facts make this table sharper than it looks:

  1. Deductions compound within the 90-day window. A single 10-point LDR deduction is noise; three of them in a quarter is 30 points — half the distance to a milestone.
  2. Repeat violations escalate. The platform applies more deductions and more severe actions for repeated violations of the same policy — the first counterfeit listing might cost 15 points, subsequent ones can close the shop.

The enforcement ladder (what each milestone actually takes away)

AHR falls below Enforcement
150 Blocked from new mega campaigns, user-growth activities, platform-funded free shipping and other platform benefits for 7 days; blocked from enrolling new affiliates for 7 days
100 All of the above for 14 days, plus suspension of new listing creation and updates (14 days), reduced livestream traffic, removal from Shopping Center recommendations
50 Shop deactivated for 28 days; campaign/benefit blocks extended to 60 days
0 Permanent suspension, possible legal action and referral to regulators

Read the ladder from the money's point of view. The 150-line costs you growth (campaigns and platform-funded free shipping are where impulse volume comes from). The 100-line costs you listing (no new SKUs for two weeks — deadly in fast-fashion cycles). The 50-line costs you the shop itself for a month. The formal warning arrives 20 points before each threshold — so when you see one, you have real runway, but only if you act.

Points restore automatically — in 90 days

Deducted AHR points are automatically restored 90 days after the deduction (unless the shop has already been closed, i.e. AHR = 0). Successful appeals restore them immediately. There is no manual "reset" button to press, and nothing you can buy your way out of — which makes the appeal window the only lever that works faster than waiting.

Appealing: two chances, strict clocks

Also note the quiz path: for some policy violations, passing the linked policy quiz earns points or reduces enforcement duration. It is the cheapest remediation available and it is easy to miss.

The money side: withheld balance

Separate from the enforcement ladder, TikTok Shop's policy allows the platform to withhold any balance due to you — without prior notice — while it investigates a suspected breach. The withholding can last the longer of 180 days from notification or until the investigation completes, and if the breach caused loss, compensation can be paid out of the withheld balance before the remainder is returned. This is the enforcement action that hits cash flow, not just traffic — and it is why our articles on payout timing and payout failures treat "money due but not released" as a distinct risk from "money lost".

LDR: the violation cross-border sellers hit most

For China-to-Malaysia cross-border sellers, the violation you are most likely to collect is the Late Dispatch Rate (LDR) one. The mechanics: orders must be scanned by the carrier (updated to "In Transit") within the dispatch SLA — 2 business days for regular orders from Awaiting Shipment. Stay under 4% and you are within the recommended band; above 10% triggers enforcement under the Seller Enforcement Policy. A 2026 policy update (effective 15 June 2026) changes the LDR calculation to include orders still unshipped beyond SLA in the numerator — meaning abandoned orders in your queue now count against you, not just the ones you shipped late. Putting a number on it

A milestone enforcement is a revenue event, and it deserves the same arithmetic as a fee:

expected enforcement cost = (orders not sold during the block) × (net profit per order) + (privileges lost: campaigns, platform-funded free shipping, new listings)

The second term is the one sellers underestimate — being locked out of platform-funded free shipping during a mega-campaign month is a bigger number than most shops' entire ad budget. Model the first term with the free SEA Profit Calculator: it applies the full TikTok Shop MY fee stack (commission tier, 3.78% payment fee, RM0.54 platform support fee per delivered order, first-mile logistics and FX) so net profit per order is a real number, not a guess.

Rules verified 2026-10-16. AHR is a rolling 90-day score and deduction values are policy maxima ("up to") — your actual deduction for a specific violation is shown on the violation ticket and in Account Health. Enforcement ladder, appeal windows and the 90-day restore are from the SEA Seller Enforcement Policy that lists Malaysia; LDR thresholds are quoted from TikTok's cross-market framework documents, so the numbers in your own Seller Centre govern where they differ.
