About SEA Profit Calculator
About this site
SEA Profit Calculator is an independent tool and reference for people selling on Shopee Malaysia and TikTok Shop Malaysia — especially sellers shipping from China, where the gap between a headline price and the money that actually lands is the whole game.
Why it exists
Platform fee documentation is scattered, published in inconsistent units (some rates include tax, some don't), and revised without much notice. Sellers end up pricing from a number they half-remember. This site puts the six cost layers of one order in one place — commission, payment fee, platform support fee, tax, first-mile shipping and FX loss — and lets you change one input and see the effect.
The calculator is free and requires no sign-up. It is funded by advertising.
How the numbers are produced
Platform fees. Commission, transaction and support fee tables are taken from the platforms' own seller documentation and dated in the interface. Where a platform publishes a rate that is ambiguous — for example a category row that differs between Market and Mall — we say so in the interface rather than smoothing it over.
Tax. Malaysia's low-value goods (LVG) sales tax treatment for imported goods sold online is applied according to the published threshold. Cross-border and domestic modes are treated separately, because the rule applies differently.
First-mile shipping. China → Malaysia first-mile rates are market estimates. Freight quotes vary by forwarder, route and week, so the presets are starting points to edit — not published tariffs.
Live price benchmark. When you look up a product keyword, the site queries marketplace listings, takes the top results and summarises the listed prices into a 25th percentile / median / 75th percentile band. It is a same-day snapshot of listed prices, not sales data, and not a recommendation of any price.
FX. The CNY→MYR rate used in the calculator is a manual snapshot, labelled with its date. It is not a live rate.
Every figure in the guides carries a "Rates verified" date so you can see how fresh it is.
Our editorial rules
- Prefer primary sources. Platform help centres, customs guidance and provider documentation — not other blogs.
- Date everything. A fee number without a date is not usable.
- Label estimates as estimates. Logistics pricing and FX are marked as such; we do not present them as official figures.
- Corrections are welcome and recorded. If a fee change makes something on this site wrong, email us with the source and we will fix it and date the change.
What this site is not
- Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Shopee, TikTok, or the Royal Malaysian Customs Department.
- Not financial, tax or legal advice. Confirm current rates in your own Seller Centre before you commit to pricing.
- Not a substitute for your own invoices. Reconciling one settled order against these pages will tell you more than any estimate.
