TikTok Shop Malaysia Seller Fees Explained (2026)

TikTok Shop Malaysia publishes its fees differently from Shopee, and that difference trips up sellers who compare the two platforms side by side. The most important thing to know before you read any number on this page: TikTok's published commission rates already include 8% SST, while Shopee's published rates do not. If you compare the headline percentages directly, you will draw the wrong conclusion.

Everything below is for the TikTok Shop MY Marketplace (non-Mall) seller, sourced from TikTok's own Seller Center, verified 2026-10-09. The current commission table is effective from 13 September 2025.

The three fees TikTok Shop MY charges

  1. Commission — a category-based percentage of the item price, SST-inclusive
  2. Transaction fee — 3.78%, SST-inclusive
  3. Platform Support Fee — a flat RM0.54 per successfully delivered order

1. Commission is SST-inclusive — the key difference from Shopee

TikTok Shop's commission table states its rates inclusive of 8% SST. So when you see "14.58%" for Women's Clothing (non-BXP Marketplace), that is the final effective rate — there is no additional 8% to stack. On Shopee, a "14%" Women's Clothing rate becomes 15.12% once you add SST.

The billing base is the item price minus seller discounts. TikTok explicitly excludes the shipping fee and platform-funded discounts from the commission base — another billing-base difference to keep in mind when reconciling against Shopee.

2. BXP vs non-BXP

TikTok Shop has two commission tiers:

BXP sellers also receive platform-funded, stackable discount vouchers and cashback support, which is part of the value of the programme. Whether you qualify for BXP is shown in your Seller Centre under the Mission / Growth Center.

Full Marketplace ranges are 0%–11.34% for BXP and 0%–15.66% for non-BXP, with 0% reserved for mandatory-category food (Baking, Fresh & Frozen, Staples & Cooking Essentials). Mall rates are higher; this article covers the Marketplace tier.

3. The 3.78% transaction fee

TikTok Shop MY charges 3.78% on the buyer's payment (base 3.5% + 8% SST). It has been in place since 2024-09-05, up from 2.16% before that.

One caveat worth flagging honestly: TikTok's own worked example calculates this fee on the discounted subtotal without shipping, while a widely cited third-party reference reads the official basis as the buyer's total payment including shipping. Both billing bases circulate. The 3.78% rate itself is not in dispute; only the base is. Confirm against your own settled-order details.

4. The RM0.54 Platform Support Fee

TikTok charges RM0.50 + 8% SST = RM0.54 per successfully delivered order, applied from 2026-02-15. It is flat regardless of order value or item count. If an order is returned after delivery, the fee is not refunded; if the order is cancelled before delivery, it is refunded in full.

Exemptions: new sellers (30 days), small sellers (monthly net orders ≤100, or ≤200 orders with GMV ≤RM3,000, renewed monthly via a task), and mandatory categories.

New-seller offer: 120 days free commission

For new Marketplace sellers who joined after 2026-04-01, TikTok Shop waives commission for 120 days after completing a listing task (the "New Seller Kickstart" programme), plus 30 days of Platform Support Fee. This is longer than Shopee's flat "120 days or 200 orders" structure but requires you to complete the listing task to activate it.

Settlement tiers

TikTok Shop settles payouts on a performance-tiered schedule, counted from the delivery date:

Note: TikTok's Malaysia-specific settlement page was not reachable at the time of writing (returned 404). The tier structure above comes from TikTok Shop's cross-market official settlement documentation (Singapore and US editions). The exact tier you fall into is shown in your Seller Centre under Finance — treat the numbers here as the official framework, not a promise for your shop.

What this means for pricing

Because TikTok's commission is SST-inclusive, the headline rate is the all-in rate — but that also means the sticker numbers look higher than Shopee's before SST.
