Shopee Malaysia Seller Fees 2026: The Complete Breakdown

If you sell on Shopee Malaysia, the price you list is not the money you keep. Shopee deducts several separate fees from every payout, and because they stack, a seller who only budgets for "commission" can be off by several ringgit per order. This breakdown lists each fee layer, the official rate behind it, and how they combine on a single order.

All rates below are the Marketplace (non-Mall) seller rates published in Shopee's own Seller Education Hub, verified on 2026-10-09.

The fee layers in one pass

Shopee MY charges a cross-border Marketplace seller four things tied to a sale, in addition to your own logistics and FX costs:

  1. Commission — a category-based percentage of the product price
  2. Transaction (payment) fee — 3.78%, charged on what the buyer pays
  3. Platform Support Fee — a flat RM0.54 per completed order
  4. 8% SST — added on top of the platform's fees (not on the goods)

Each has a different billing base, which is the part most sellers miss.

1. Commission by category

Commission is calculated on the product price after seller discounts and seller vouchers, then 8% SST is added on top. The rate depends on your category and on whether you are an SCP seller (see below). The 2026-08-14 commission table applies from 14 August 2026.

Category (Marketplace) SCP seller Non-SCP seller
Mobile Phones 6.00% 11.00%
Home Audio & Speakers 7.50% 12.50%
Women Clothes 9.00% 14.00%
Women Bags 9.50% 14.50%
Shoes (Men/Women) 10.00% 15.00%
Pet Supplies 10.00% 15.00%
Health – Personal Care / Food Supplement 12.00% 17.00%
Furniture 11.50% 16.50%

Rates exclude 8% SST. Source: Shopee MY, Marketplace Commission Fees, effective 14 Aug 2026.

SCP vs non-SCP. SCP stands for Shopee Cashback Programme. Sellers who opt in pay a lower commission rate but pay a separate SCP service fee of 5.5% on normal days or 7.5% on campaign days (cap RM100 per item), plus 8% SST. Joining SCP is not automatically cheaper — it depends on volume and campaign exposure.

A small set of essential goods (rice, cooking oil, eggs, fresh meat, seafood and similar KPDN-listed staples) carries 0% commission.

2. The 3.78% transaction fee

Shopee charges a payment-channel fee of 3.5% + 8% SST = 3.78%, in place since 2024-08-01.

The billing base is the total amount the buyer pays, including the shipping fee, before Shopee-sponsored discounts. That "including shipping" detail matters: a light, cheap item with a relatively high shipping charge is billed on the shipping too.

3. The RM0.54 Platform Support Fee

Shopee charges a flat RM0.50 + 8% SST = RM0.54 per completed order (in place since 2025-07-16). It applies regardless of order value or number of items. It is waived for new sellers during their first 60 days, for small sellers (monthly net orders ≤100, or ≤200 orders with GMV ≤RM3,000), for the essential-goods category, and for KPM-listed government textbook orders.

4. How 8% SST stacks

Malaysia's 8% service tax is applied on top of the platform's own fees — commission, transaction fee, Platform Support Fee, SCP service fee, and the pre-order service fee. It is not charged on the product price itself. Malaysia has no GST on goods in this context.

Practically, that means the headline commission rate is not the rate you pay. A 14% commission becomes an effective 15.12% once SST is added (14% × 1.08). The 3.78% and RM0.54 figures above already include their SST, so do not add 8% to them a second time.

New-seller commission waiver: 120 days / 200 orders

A new Shopee seller (a unique seller ID with no prior shop) pays no Marketplace commission until the earlier of: 120 days after the first product is listed, or 200 completed orders (rule effective 2026-08-01). The Platform Support Fee is separately waived for the first 60 days.

Worked example: a RM15 order

Take a RM15 item in Women Clothes, sold by a non-SCP Marketplace seller. Assume the buyer also pays a RM4.90 shipping fee (an example input — your actual shipping charge will differ).

Layer Base Rate Amount
Commission (excl SST) RM15.00 14.00% RM2.100
+ 8% SST on commission RM2.100 8.00% RM0.168
Transaction fee RM15.00 + RM4.90 = RM19.90 3.78% RM0.752
Platform Support Fee per order flat RM0.540
Total platform fees RM3.560

The seller keeps RM15.00 − RM3.560 = RM11.440 of the product price, before any cost of goods, first-mile logistics, or FX loss. That is a 23.7% platform take on the product price.

If the same seller were on the SCP rate for Women Clothes (9%), the commission including SST would fall to RM1.458 instead of RM2.268 — a RM0.81 saving on this order, before the SCP service fee is counted.

For a low-commission category, the same RM15 example in Mobile Phones (11% non-SCP) yields commission of RM1.782 including SST — the category matters more than almost anything else.
